RAIN BLOCKER TECHNOLOGY

Waterproof, windproof, breathable technology which is impermeable to outside moisture, while allowing perspiration from inside and dispersing it through the membrane system. Garment seams are heat sealed and secured with waterproof tape.

4-DIRECTION STRETCH

Superior comfort, fit and freedom of movement. The inherent multi-directional stretch of the fabric allows you to perform the movements needed to hunt without worrying about your gear binding up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Kevin P. from Packable rain pants I have not worn these pants so I can not report if they keep you dry or how durable they are. My first impression made think of a camouflage garbage bag. They are very thin and do not have any kind of a liner. I get the feeling it will stick to you when wearing it in the rain. As for durability goes, I think they would get torn pretty easy if wearing them through brush. They are also kind of noisy. I would be leery of wearing them in a hunting situation where noise is factor. For fit, they fit fine around the waist, but you can not pull them up on your waist like they should be because the crouch is to short. Over all, IF these do keep you dry, I think they would be a good choice to carry with you to put on in case of pop-up showers. Such as taking them in the boat while fishing, sitting on a field edge while dove hunting or even in a duck blind. If I had not bought these on sale/clearance, I would have probably returned them.

Ive used this pattern for all of my early season hunting but I have a long walk in so I was looking for something that I could stay cool in. These work great and are very quite especially for being water proof.

None of them had zippers on the legs. These you could hunt in all day in heavy brush, without them coming apart.

Will a size Medium fit over a Medium size pair of the Silentec pant?

The Packable Rain Pant is pretty true to size but has plenty of stretch in the leg fabric and waist. Your normal size would work well for early season, however, if you like a bit more room you may want to size up for mid-season. You'll definitely want at least a size larger for late-season layering. Are these meant to be placed over your existing pants as it begins to rain or worn as your stand alone primary pants, I’m trying to determine what size to get?

You can do either! The Shield Series Packable Rain Pant is an early season piece that you can pack along to protect yourself. You can wear them as a standalone outer layer if you choose to or toss it on over your suit for on demand rain protection.
